Hours: Monday – Thursday 8:00am – 4:30pm & Friday 8:00am – 3:15pm

Salary: £18,000 – £22,000 per annum depending on experience

Holidays: 28 days per year including bank holidays (7-10 days Christmas & New Year shut-down)

Job Description


Premier Roof Systems is seeking a full time Finance and Operations Officer to work as part of our busy Finance and Operations Team, maintaining and reporting on financial and accounting matters. The Finance and Operations Officer is responsible for maintaining and reporting on financial and accounting matters, providing administrative support in order to meet legal requirements and to support organisational management. We are looking for an individual with a finance experience and qualification who can demonstrate their skills working with SMEs.


The Role


  • To manage, and coordinate, the effective running of PRS’s finance and payroll function in accordance with PRS’s financial policies and procedures
  • To deliver bookkeeping duties and compile accurate financial records using our accounting software (Xero)
  • To prepare monthly management accounts
  • To prepare and produce monthly expenditure reports to the Senior Management Team (SMT)
  • To support the Finance and Operations Director (FOD) in ensuring the smooth running of the Finance and HR duties
  • To provide financial reports and analysis to staff, in particular the SMT, as requested
  • To have responsibility for financial information to enable budgetary decision making
  • To prepare and produce cash flow statements, income and expenditure accounts
  • To ensure all purchase invoices, expenses, petty cash and credit card transactions are authorised, coded and input to the computerised accounting system in accordance with financial procedures and payments are made and received within set timescales
  • To produce and provide financial information to inform funding applications, reports to funders and published reports, as required
  • To assist with the preparation of year end accounts
  • To maintain bank records, performing regular bank reconciliations
  • To operate the organisation’s petty cash
  • Where requested, to liaise with the external auditors, bank and related organisations
  • To continuously review and improve the systems in place
  • To ensure all finance policies and procedures are reviewed regularly and comply with current legislation
  • To be the point of contact for all finance queries
  • To ensure all finance and HR matters are kept in strictest confidence
  • To undertake any other duties which may reasonably be requested, commensurate with the nature of the position

Operations Support:

  • To assist the FOD with HR admin and staff recruitment
  • To support the SMT, Production and Sales team
  • To be one of the first points of contact on the PRS main telephone line
  • To review and update the organisation’s policies as and when required
  • To support the SMT travel arrangements

  • PRS finances run efficiently and effectively, with the appropriate service, systems and processes to maintain high standards, and facilitate monitoring and reporting on work undertaken
  • An efficient Operations team meeting the needs and demands of the organisation
  • Fully supported SMT, Finance, Operation and HR



This is a full time post of 40 hours per week. There will be a probationary period for this post of three months. This post may require occasional extra hours, which fall on evenings, or at weekends, may be necessary, for which time off in lieu may be granted.

A minimum of two years experience and an AAT qualification are essential requirements.
